Hello! My name is Yogita, but you may call me Yogi. I was raised in Stockton, California, and American Veterinary Hospital as been a home to me as a veterinary assistant since 2005. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences with a Minor in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis. I had always aspired to work in medicine, and working at AVH has affirmed that my passion resides in veterinary medicine. I am currently a second year veterinary student at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, and am concurrently going to school for my MBA. My goal is to practice small animal medicine while optimizing practice management and community outreach.
My family has four amazing dogs that I love dearly and enjoy spending my vacation time with! In my spare time when I am not in school, I am either involved in helping my family, exercising or spending time with friends. I love kickboxing and long road trips! Most importantly, I look forward to meeting you and your beloved pets and hope that I can be of assistance to you!
Samantha Gosa is one of our awesome RVTs (registered veterinary technician) here at American Veterinary Hospital. She grew up in Lodi, CA and moved to Stockton CA when she was 15 years old. She has always been an animal lover; however, it wasn’t until the age of 16, after rescuing a nest of baby birds, in which she decided to pursue a career in the healthcare of animals. So after a massive amount of studying at Western Career College she graduated in 2009 with an AS degree in Veterinary Technology. Shortly after that she passed her California State Board examination with flying colors and became an RVT. Since passing her test in 2009 she has had the opportunities to gain experience in working with all kinds of creatures (including exotics small and large) and has become a great patient nurse in different kinds of scenarios. Right now she is here with us full time, but does dedicate some of her time during the week to also work at a 24 hour Emergency Facility in Elk Grove, CA. When not providing love and care to animals in need, she is being a full time single mother to 3 crazy beautiful kids (2 girls and 1 boy). Her kids are her everything and she teaches them everything she can about her career. Samantha may be quiet and seem shy from when you first meet her, but once you get to know her you will see that she is funny, kind and one of the most caring people you could ever meet whether it comes to you and/or your pet. So know that when you leave your beloved companion with her, they are in some of the best hands possible.
Raja - is our resident cat who loves to be the center of attention! He is a 9 years old orange tabby who is the king around here. He has been with American Veterinary Hospital since he was just a couple months old. Raja loves to be brushed out regularly but he absolutely hates to be bathed. He loves to sit in your lap and he just loves to sun bathe! Believe it or not he also loves puppies and kittens. He often visits with the boarding kitties and hospitalized patients during their stay. Raja looks forward to meeting you and your furry family members!
